Hi, I’m Stephan.

I know how it feels when math just doesn’t work. I had to repeat 8th grade, and after 9th grade I dropped out of school. Later I completed every school qualification, studied mathematics and finished my master’s degree as the best in my year. Today I have been tutoring for more than ten years, and I explain things until they really stick.

How to book

  1. Tap a free time. In the calendar below, ideally the intro session first (20 minutes, free).
  2. Fill in the form. Name, grade, email and WhatsApp, then “book”. Without an account you also tap the link in the email.
  3. Meet via Teams. You tell me where things get stuck, we try a task together, and you decide whether to continue.

All times are German time (CET/CEST). Lessons are in German. We discuss the price personally.

How tutoring works

  • Via Teams, in the browser or in the app. Your child doesn’t need their own account.
  • Live writing. I write on my iPad, and your child sees every step. Best with an iPad and pen, but a laptop with a camera works too.
  • Homework in the app after every lesson, matching what we did.
  • I see beforehand where things get stuck, and we start right at the mistakes. You see “done” or “open”.

My path to mathematics

Math didn’t come easily to me. That’s exactly why I quickly see where a child is stuck and why. And my own path shows that a bumpy start decides nothing. With the right explanation and some patience, much more is possible than you think.

Frequently asked questions

What happens in the intro session?

We talk for 20 minutes via Teams: where things get stuck, what’s coming up next, and I show you how a lesson works. Free and with no obligation.

How does a lesson work?

We meet in a Microsoft Teams video call. Lessons are in German. I write live on my iPad in GoodNotes, your child sees every step and works along. We work on whatever is most pressing: homework, the next test or gaps from earlier years.

What does my child need?

A device with a camera and microphone, plus a notebook and pen. An iPad with a pen is best: then we both write in the same document, and I see right away where things get stuck. A laptop or computer works too.

Can we have a fixed time every week?

Yes. Pick a time in the calendar and choose “Every week”. This works if the time is also free in the following weeks. Single lessons, for example before a test, work just as well.

Which time zone are the times in?

All times in the calendar are German time (CET/CEST). For example, in El Salvador it is 7 or 8 hours earlier.

Do I as a parent need to check the homework?

No. In the family area you see whether it is done and how many tasks were correct. I look at the individual answers and go through them with your child in the lesson.

How much does a lesson cost?

We discuss the price personally, depending on how often and for what your child needs tutoring. Just write to me through the calendar and I’ll get back to you. Payment is via PayPal.
